🌿 PRODUCT
Diamond Dust is the strain that won Clade9 a first place at the High Times Cannabis Cup in 2021, and it is the older generation behind several other jars on this shelf. Dave Holmes made the selection in East Los Angeles in 2014 and logged it under the breeder code SBD19(7), which is the kind of record-keeping that separates a breeding house from a grower. The pack lists it under the Bubba + OG family.
🏷 BRAND
Clade9 is a California breeding house that Dave Holmes started in 2009 as Cannagen and renamed in 2015, after the word for a branch on the tree of life. Holmes breeds in-house, and the brand lists every strain by terpene family instead of indica or sativa. That family name is the coloured line printed on the front of the pack. In New Jersey the flower comes from The QCC Group, in the old Mack truck plant in Plainfield.
🧬 LINEAGE
Clade9 gives Diamond Dust four names on its own page: Sour Bubble, Double Dream, Sour Lemon Haze and Bubblegum. Stated as a two-parent cross it reads Sour Bubble x Double Dream, and the breeder's own code for that pairing is SBD19(7). The haze and bubblegum lines are why a Bubba + OG strain still turns bright on the top end.
☀️ USE MOMENT
This is a jar for someone who wants to taste where a family started rather than where it ended up. Bubba + OG puts it late in the day, and the haze side keeps it from going completely flat, so it holds a conversation longer than most heavy eighths.
